PhotoPrism
AI-powered photo indexing that keeps every memory on hardware you actually own
PhotoPrism is a self-hosted, privacy-first photo and video management application that uses on-device AI to automatically tag, classify, and organize your media library, including facial recognition and location-based sorting from Exif and XMP metadata. It handles a broad range of formats including RAW files, HEIC, and video, generates browsable maps of where photos were taken, and offers WebDAV support so files can be opened and edited directly from Windows Explorer or macOS Finder as if they were local. Deployed primarily via Docker, PhotoPrism runs on everything from a Raspberry Pi to a full NAS, and its self-funded, independent team promises your photos are never shared with or sold to third parties.
