OpenSearch
A truly open search and analytics engine built after Elastic changed its license
OpenSearch is a community-governed search, analytics, and observability suite that AWS forked from the last Apache-licensed release of Elasticsearch. It keeps full-text search, log analytics, vector search, and a Kibana-style dashboard experience under the permissive Apache 2.0 license, giving teams an escape route from restrictive source-available licensing while remaining largely compatible with existing Elasticsearch tooling and clients.
